It seems like just the other day that I was putting together the columns for A Collection of Cowboy Logic. I checked the calendar and it was six years ago. If time flies when you’re having fun, I must have been having an awfully good time!

My new book, Cowboy Logic Continues, features most of the columns to leave my desk since the fall of 1998. For part of that time, I was still writing a column every week. The last few years, I’ve been writing one every two weeks. I hope they’re twice as good. I know I’m twice as happy and half as stressed to only have a deadline every 14 days, instead of every seven!

The stories in this book reflect on many things courtship, marriage and fatherhood; off-ranch employment and travels; on-the-ranch wrecks and rewards; and the greatness of life on the Great Plains.

I think there'll be a day when we look back on our existence out here on the prairie, on the farms and ranches, and in the little towns dotting the countryside, and we’ll say those ordinary things were really quite extraordinary in the modern scope of things. So I’ll keep writing.

I offer here a small sampling of the columns available in Cowboy Logic Continues. I hope you enjoy them enough to purchase my new book. If not, thanks for reading anyway. It's always good to meet a new friend.
