Ryan Taylor lives on his family's century old ranch near Towner, N.D., with his wife, Nikki, and their sons, little Bud and new baby boy, Ole. They raise cattle, hay, horses and, now, kids.

He dedicates his book as follows:
"For the Taylor Ranch crew - my mother, Liz; my father, Bud; my wife, Nikki; and my son, little Bud. It’s family that makes ranch life the good life."

About the author

Author Ryan Taylor is a fourth generation rancher from Towner, N.D., who continues to raise cattle on native prairie first homesteaded by the Taylors in 1903.

Educated at Towner High School (in a class of 19) and North Dakota State University (a much larger institution), Ryan has supplemented his meager ranch income as a freelance writer, a syndicated columnist, a book-peddling publisher, a public relations man for a beef co-op, a road weary sales rep for an animal health company and a rope twirling after-dinner speaker and entertainer. He’s currently serving a hitch in the North Dakota State Senate.
